There are numerous federal, state, local and other programs and services available to Pennsylvania veterans in recognition of their incredible contributions to our country. However, many veterans may not be aware of every program and service available to them, and many others have questions or need assistance to apply for these benefits.
In order to help connect our local heroes to the benefits they’ve earned by serving our nation, Senator Martin hosts Veteran Service Officer Days every month in his district office. During these times, a VFW Veteran Service Officer will be available to assist veterans and their families who have questions or need assistance with health care, disability claims, GI bill assistance and other veteran benefits.
Local individuals or family members are encouraged to schedule a specific time to meet with a representative by contacting Martin’s office at 717-397-1309 to ensure their questions are answered. Veterans are encouraged to bring their DD-214 or Veterans DD-214 for prompt assistance.
The events are typically held the second Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., although the schedule is subject to change based on holidays, availability, etc. Subscribe to Senator Martin’s e-newsletter, follow him on social media (Facebook, Twitter/X, and Instagram), and check back on the website for future updates on these informative events.
Local Veterans Ask For More Assistance
Senator Martin hosted a survey on his website in Spring 2023 to help determine the need for new informational resources for veterans. The results showed that many local veterans and their families wanted more information and help in applying for benefits.
Veteran Service Officer Days offer direct assistance to the brave men and women who have defended our freedom by serving in the U.S. military.
