Senator Martin Will Host Senior Expo on August 14 in Lancaster

LANCASTER – More than 50 exhibitors will be available to offer information on programs and services for older community residents at Senator Scott Martin’s (R-Lancaster) Senior Expo next week in Lancaster.

This free public event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on August 14 at the Farm and Home Center, located at 1383 Arcadia Road in Lancaster.

State, county and local agencies will be on hand to provide information on a wide variety of benefits for older Pennsylvanians, including health and wellness, assistive technologies, consumer protection, income tax assistance, veteran benefits, traffic safety, utility assistance, and much more.

Free health screenings, door prizes and light refreshments will be available for visitors. The American Red Cross will also host a blood drive at the event from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. by appointment. Donors can schedule an appointment by calling Martin’s office at 717-397-1309 or visiting https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=Martin

The Lancaster District Attorney’s Office will also be available at the expo to help citizens properly dispose of unused prescription medications. Constituents can bring old, unused, or unneeded medication to the event and place them in the secure take back box at the Lancaster County Drug Task Force table staffed by a Lancaster County Detective. The initiative is being offered to slow the abuse of prescription medications.

As a new feature at this year’s expo, a special Hall of Heroes exhibit will be on display to highlight the service of the region’s hometown military veterans and active-duty military heroes.

Older community residents can RSVP to attend the expo at https://senatorscottmartinpa.com/senior-expo-constituent-reg/. RSVPs are not required but are appreciated.
