LANCASTER – More than 50 exhibitors will be available to offer information on programs and services for older community residents at Senator Scott Martin’s (R-Lancaster) Senior Expo on September 26 in Lancaster.
This free public event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the Farm and Home Center, located at 1383 Arcadia Road in Lancaster.
State, county and local agencies will be on hand to provide information on a wide variety of benefits for older Pennsylvanians, including health and wellness, assistive technologies, consumer protection, income tax assistance, veteran benefits, traffic safety, utility assistance, and much more.
Free health screenings, flu shots, door prizes and light refreshments will be available for visitors. The American Red Cross will also host a blood drive at the event from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. by appointment.
In addition, the Senior Expo will feature a food drive to benefit Loft Community Partnership. A drop box for donations will be available at the registration table. Accepted donations include:
- Canned soup, beans, meats, fruit, tuna, potatoes, vegetables, spaghettiOs, ravioli and baked beans
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Complete pancake mix and syrup
- Pasta (all kinds) and spaghetti sauce
- Ramen Noodles, rice-a-roni, rice/noodle side dishes, boxed potatoes: scalloped, au-gratin, mashed
- Toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, bar soap,
- Laundry detergent, fabric softener, dish detergent, household cleaning supplies, toilet paper, and paper towels
- Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard
