HARRISBURG – Senator Scott Martin (R-Lancaster) issued the following statement today after Governor Shapiro announced he would appeal the Commonwealth Court’s ruling invalidating the RGGI carbon tax:
“It is frustrating and disappointing that Governor Shapiro is continuing to push forward with this tax increase that will hike consumers’ energy bills, close power plants and chase away jobs to other states. The RGGI carbon tax scheme is wrong for Pennsylvania, and doubling down on this deeply flawed policy will do severe harm to our economy, grid reliability and our commonwealth as a whole.”
