MORGANTOWN – State Senator Scott Martin (R-13) learned more about the innovative, industry-leading work of Morgan Truck Body during a tour of the company’s Morgantown manufacturing facility and Corporate Headquarters on Wednesday.
Morgan Truck Body is the largest manufacturer of light- and medium- duty freight and refrigerated van and truck bodies in North America and has 14 manufacturing locations and eight service centers in the United States and Canada. The company employs more than 2,700 team members who design, build, sell, and support the most reliable truck bodies in the world.
Martin noted that the manufacturing industry is one of the most important sectors of Pennsylvania’s economy.
“Morgan Truck Body is a perfect example of the kind of manufacturing company we need in the region to create family-sustaining jobs and improve our overall quality of life,” Martin said. “It is impressive how they have remained on the cutting edge of technology in their industry, and I appreciated the chance to meet their team and learn more about their work.”
“We appreciate Senator Martin’s visit to gain insight into the new technologies and innovative approaches that Morgan Truck Body is employing to stay at the forefront of truck body design, building and upfitting,” says Corby Stover, President and COO Morgan Truck Body. “We strive to be an employer of choice and continue to seek talented individuals to join our team.”
During the tour, Morgan Truck Body showcased its Innovation Lab, where they are developing their next phase of product evolution, designed to achieve extended range, improved aerodynamics, and a lighter-weight dry-freight body. It comes on the heels of last year’s first-phase concept body that introduced lighter-weight materials and situational awareness elements, many of which are now available.
Three Morgan truck-body innovations were highlighted during NTEA Work Truck Week in Indianapolis last month.
