HARRISBURG – Senator Scott Martin (R-13) was appointed today to serve on six Senate committees that consider a wide range of bills of interest to Lancaster County communities.
Martin was appointed today to serve on the Senate Appropriations Committee; Senate Judiciary Committee; Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee; Senate Health and Human Services Committee; and Senate Urban Affairs and Housing Committee.
“Each of these committees will be addressing issues that will have a big impact on local communities and the state as a whole,” Martin said. “Some of the issues that are likely to be debated by these panels are the same issues that generate the most calls, letters and emails to my office — the state budget, welfare reform, Medicaid work requirements, criminal justice reform, community development and energy taxes, among others.”
Martin was also appointed earlier this month to serve as Chairman of the Senate Local Government Committee, which is responsible for reviewing legislation that affects Pennsylvania’s more than 2,500 county and municipal government entities.
