The Senate today adopted a Resolution introduced by Senator Randy Vulakovich designating December 16, 2017, as “Wreaths Across America Day” in Pennsylvania.
For 25 years, the Wreaths Across America project has placed more than 3,317,000 wreaths on the graves of our nation’s fallen military heroes in all 50 states, at sea, and abroad. Last year, 1,200,000 wreaths were placed at 1,226 locations.
“These wreaths express our gratitude for the service and the ultimate sacrifice made by our fellow Pennsylvanians as well as their comrades from hometowns across our great nation,” said Senator Vulakovich, Chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness Committee. “I want to thank Wreaths Across America and to commend the efforts of the thousands of volunteers here and around the world who ensure that we remember the sacrifices made for us. In this season of giving, Wreaths Across America displays the best of our society. It receives no government funding, with the costs of its programs paid by individual sponsors, corporate donors and volunteer truckers. I am proud to support their efforts and extend my deepest appreciation for their good work.”
