The Senate unanimously passed Senate Resolution No. 239 recognizing November 14, 2017 as World Diabetes Day in Pennsylvania. Currently 13% of Pennsylvanians are living with either Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes and the United States spends an average of 245 billion dollars annually on treatment. By recognizing World Diabetes Day we hope to raise awareness about the warning signs of this life altering disease, encourage informed healthy decisions and the support the development of medical practices that may one day make this disease easier to live with and ultimately cure it.
